Shell NXplorers Pro was launched last year in Vietnam to help transform the perspective and thinking of Vietnamese students to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Over 200 students across Vietnam participated in the program to explore local and global challenges, create ideas, and drive sustainable change.
At a gala event in February 2023, the top 6 teams were invited to present their learning journey and innovative solutions to a host of invited guests and fellow students.
SIMZ Team from Ho Chi Minh City University were awarded the highest prize. Their idea was to create an automatic trash can that classifies waste for household scale using gravity, magnetism and artificial intelligence (AI). This solution contributes to helping people comply with local environmental laws so that by 2025, all household waste from households, agencies and offices is classified before disposal.
Team NXWHELP from University of Technical Education and team POWER from Lac Hong University were awarded the next prizes. NXWHELP proposed their solution to the issue of a lack of clean water in the Mekong Delta in the dry season with the application of technology and building water channels to control the amount of clean water for people.
Team POWER offered a solution to use biogas to generate electricity for remote areas who lack access. As a result, people in places without electricity can access biogas technology, thereby, creating free electricity, lighting up living spaces.
Since launching in 2022, NXplorers Pro has already had a very positive impact in Vietnam and has been well received by students and university faculty alike.
“After the workshop, my vision/perspective is more wide and overall. I believe it enables my success in the future” - Team SIMZ.
Congratulations to SIMZ, NXWHELP, POWER and all the NXplorers Pro students in Vietnam for embracing NXthinking and showing the path to a sustainable future.
